As the week ends, let's take a moment to look back at what we've achieved in the past few days and see what we've got to look forward to in the week to come.

Particl Desktop πŸ’»οΈ

We're still completing the items outlined in our previous updates, namely including enhancing Tor server capabilities and making a variety of minor improvements.

Please note, that we are observing a delay that is impacting the development process of Particl Desktop which we are working on resolving.

BasicSwap πŸ“ˆ

Following last week's announcement of the first phase of the Litecoin MWEB integration into BasicSwap DEX, we've resumed working on some improvements to the codebase with the invaluable help of some of our new community members who've been hard at work testing out stuff and suggesting solutions.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in this collaborative effort to advance the open-source and privacy revolution.

  • Don't automatically set usetorproxy for certain commands, enabletor / disabletor, etc.
  • Add detection of aarch64 architectures.
  • Fix preparescript to download "nousb" Particl release.
  • The basicswap-prepare command now defaults wshost to htmlhost.
  • monero-wallet-rpc proxy now set with parameter instead of config.
  • XMR nodes don't connect from private IPs over tor by default anymore.
  • basicswapprepare now set usetorproxy automatically when tor is enabled.
  • Added settings for RPC timeouts for XMR.
  • Switch LTC core download links to github from litecoin.org so they work over tor.
  • Fix addcoin with -notorproxy and tor enabled.
  • Added unique error message related to XMR <> Firo swaps.
  • basicswap-prepare now asks the users if they want to set untrusted-daemon over tor.

User Interface (GUI 2.1) Β πŸ–₯️

We've made further progress on the 2.1 GUI update this week, incorporating even more features based on community feedback. Along with the items mentioned in our previous weekly update, here are the latest additions you can anticipate in the upcoming 2.1 release:

  • New button to display a QR code for the address on deposit/wallet pages.
  • Monero <> Firo swaps are not currently supported; Monero will be removed from available options when Firo is selected.
  • Layout fixes for smaller screen sizes (e.g., mobile).
  • Option to hide currency amounts on wallet pages now applies to cryptocurrency amounts too.
  • Additional refactoring of the code.
  • Finalizing the removal of hardcoded SVG images.
  • Show password screen for unlocking the DEX after a certain time away (currently in progress.

As highlighted last week, we're on the verge of rolling out this update in the dev branch on GitHub, so stay tuned for its release.
