This week has come to an end, which means it's time for our weekly update! Given that we just passed Christmas time and that we are currently running a testnet round for Particl Desktop 3.1, this progress report will be a tad briefer than usual, so let's get down to it now.
This week, the focus has been on testing the Particl Desktop 3.1 testnet build and fixing a few minor issues with it, both related to the Particl Marketplace app and the wallet itself.
Particl Desktop Progress Report
Much like we communicated in last week's progress report, it appears that no major bug, issue, or inconvenience that would delay the mainnet release has been identified by either the team or community testers.
A few minor issues have been identified and promptly fixed throughout the week, and there have been other minor improvements (i.e., back-end stealth address generation process) made to the 3.1 build which will be included in the mainnet release. We expect to release the new Particl Desktop update, on mainnet, in the early days of January 2022.
Note: As for the items to be included in Particl Desktop 3.2, expect a blog post published on Particl News very soon after the release of Particl Desktop 3.1 on mainnet. We'll detail our 3.2 roadmap and let you know what items are going to get the spotlight!
Particl Core and BasicSwap Progress Report
This week, more extensive testing has been ongoing and minor improvements have been made to Particl's upcoming cross-chain and private DEX: BasicSwap.
As we near the completion of various test cases with the participants of the closed beta group, and as the DEX's user interface is progressing well, we will soon be ready to divulge more information about the launch of BasicSwap's open beta (open to the public). However, we still, at this present time, cannot give an ETA on when it will be ready as we are working to ensure that it is as solid and secure as it should be.
And on that note, we wish you all a happy new year. We are highly confident that the Year 2022 is going to be a breakthrough one for Particl. Not only have we got the Particl V3 release out of the way in 2021, but we've also set the stage to release, in 2022, a brand new and groundbreaking application in BasicSwap. Indeed, the BasicSwap DEX is going to be instrumental in Particl's success and will directly lead to more exposure and, more importantly, organic adoption.
As the Particl ecosystem expands in terms of utility and real-world use-cases, we can't help but feel very positive about the path we've got ahead of all of us.
As always, thanks to every single one of you for your incredible support, passion, trust, and dedication to the Particl project and mission. Glorious days abound!
