Not only is this Christmas time πŸŽ…, but it's also the end of the week which means it's time for our weekly development progress report.

This week, we've released Particl Desktop 3.1 on testnet and, for this reason, most of the focus has been on monitoring the testing round, preparing what's needed to release it on mainnet, and also planning the next desktop development cycle (Particl Desktop 3.2). Concerning the latter, research has already begun regarding the next few items that are going to be included in 3.2, which we'll reveal soon in a blog post on Particl News.

Particl Desktop Progress

Regarding the current Particl Desktop 3.1 testnet, it appears, so far, that no significant issue has been detected by either the team or community testers. With that in mind, it is likely that the client will be released on mainnet next time, as always, assuming no unexpected issue arises.

Even if things are looking great so far, we still invite you to join our community of testers by downloading and installing Particl Desktop 3.1 on testnet by following this link.

As for the items to be included in Particl Desktop 3.2, expect a blog post published on Particl News very soon after the release of Particl Desktop 3.1 on mainnet. We'll detail our 3.2 roadmap and let you know what items are going to get the spotlight!

Particl Core and BasicSwap Progress

On the Particl Core side of things, Particl's core developer has been busy updating the Insight block explorer to ensure that it tracks Taproot addresses correctly, once they are activated after the coming hardfork on the 1st of February, at 17:00.

Other than that, the rest of the focus has been on improving BasicSwap and bringing it closer to its Open Beta, which we expect to launch early in 2022.

With all of the above in mind, we wish you a merry Christmas holiday along with family and friends. Make sure to recharge your batteries and come back with the fire in your eyes, because all we can say is that 2022 looks like it might be a breakthrough year for Particl; there's so much groundbreaking stuff planned for the entire ecosystem!

And as always, we thank you for your incredible support. You are what makes Particl possible and this project couldn't continue without you all!

See you all on Monday and enjoy Christmas time! πŸŽ…
