The week is coming to an end, which means it's time for our weekly development progress report! So let's quickly see what progress has been made in the past few days.
Particl Desktop π₯
This week, we've made slower-than-expected progress on the desktop client due to an unfortunate event damaging our lead desktop developer's workstation at home. However, the issue is now resolved in full.
And so, while we hoped to wrap up the integration of the new marketplace-related changes earlier this week, this hasn't been accomplished but should be in the next couple of days.
Once that is completed, we'll work on the minor tweaks, additions, and improvements to Particl Desktop. But, again, there's nothing complicated there, just time, so that should only take a handful of days.
Then, we'll run a few internal tests, after which we'll be ready to go live with Particl Desktop 3.3 on testnet.
Remaining Items for Particl Desktop 3.3
- (In progress) We are in the process of re-adding the new marketplace-specific code into Particl Desktop.
- (Pending) A couple of general but minor tweaks and minor improvements/optimizations need to be done, but they are negligible in terms of effort to sort out.
Particl Core π
Core Codebase Maintenance π οΈ
As usual, we've been keeping up with upstream updates as part of our ever-ongoing effort to maintain Particl Core up-to-date with Bitcoin's latest version. You can always keep track of those changes by following this link.
New Particl Core Release
We've released a new version of Particl Core β 23.0.3. This update fixes two minor issues:
- Particl-Qt: Fixes crash when retrieving record transaction descriptions.
- Wallet: Fixes
walletpassphrasechange
afterencryptwallet
without restarting.
As always, we recommend keeping your node(s) up-to-date with the latest Particl Core version. Click here to download Particl Core 23.0.3.
BasicSwap π
This week has been a great one regarding the BasicSwap DEX. Indeed, we have made a lot of progress on both the codebase and GUI, notably adding a wallet lock feature and improving the notification system of the user interface among many changes.
Feature Freeze in Place β Launch Imminent π
As we are now satisfied with the current state of BasicSwap and its GUI, we're putting a "feature freeze" in place at the end of today. That means we won't be adding new features or functionalities to either one of them β instead focusing exclusively on potential fixes or minor tweaks needed for the launch of the open beta.
This is an important milestone and brings us ever closer to Day 1 of the open beta. Look out for the official announcement of the release date next!
Follow BasicSwap on Twitter π¦
With the public release of the open beta rapidly coming, we've started a BasicSwap account on Twitter. Make sure to follow @BasicSwapDEX for new content and news as we build bridges within the broader cryptocurrency community.
As always, we thank you immensely for your passion and dedication to Particl and what it's working towards achieving. None of it would be possible without you all!
We wish you a great weekend we'll see you all back on Monday! π
