The Particl Project is excited to welcome on our newest developer, Lachlan Kang to the team!
Bio
My broad expertise is in security, especially network security, with a focus on online anonymity networks. This specialisation encompasses many things, from tracking technologies such as browser fingerprinting to anonymity networks such as Tor and I2P and the secrets within them such as darknet black markets.
Studies
Currently a PhD student at University of Adelaide in Australia, Lachlan’s research focuses on defeating anonymity networks such as Tor through use of tracking technologies such as browser fingerprinting, traffic analysis, and website fingerprinting.
Projects
I run a browser fingerprinting website ( https://browserprint.info ) which I personally built from scratch using Java and MariaDB (MySQL).
Passion
Almost all my work has involved anonymity, security, or networking, however I also have a side interest in cryptocurrencies.
Background
I’ve been programming for about 10 years, since my teens, and have used a large variety of languages from C++, to Lisp, to Prolog, and many others in the past.
My best language is Java, however I use Perl very often and I’m also an adept C programmer. I grew up on Windows, however I’ve been using Linux almost exclusively for the past 5 or 6 years and am loving it.
Responsibilities
Again, the team is excited to see what Lachlan brings to the team, the Particl Project and the upcoming Particl Marketplace. His focus will be on the Marketplace command line interface (cli).
Expect some of his passion for anonymity, security and networks to bleed into other pieces of the Project 😉
Welcome Lachlan!
