With the week coming to an end, we’ve prepared a new Particl V3 progress report we’d like to share with you. It highlights all the progress made over Particl V3 and indicates what the items that are going to be focused on next week and beyond are.

This week, the main focus has been on resolving the stealth address issue, which also has implications on the OMP Library. Although the issue hasn't been fully resolved yet, progress has been made in reducing the number of stealth addresses generated when using Particl Marketplace.

Particl Desktop has also been tested extensively with the new Particl Core version (0.19.2.12) which is compatible with the coming hardfork. No issue or odd behavior has been observed.

Finally, some redundant packages and pieces of code have been removed from Particl Desktop in a bid to make it more lightweight and make it easier to apply major dependency updates in the future.

With all of the above said, here's the list of outstanding issues to be fixed with Particl Desktop.

Note: Some items that were present in the last progress report are not included in this one. In all cases, that’s because they have been successfully completed.

Issue With Bids Failing but Still Locking Funds for Escrow

An issue identified by the community causes, in some circumstances, bids to fail but still lead to coins being "soft-locked" (or reserved) for escrow. This bug will now have a higher priority now that the two other major items have been crossed off the to-do list (.CSV export and governance module). Β

Stealth Address Usage

An issue with the Particl Marketplace codebase is that it generates an incredibly large number of stealth addresses when using it. This can cause significant performance issues for heavy users and can lead to long times required to sync wallets.

The issue is currently being investigated, though it is not a simple task. Fixing this behavior will significantly improve the performance of the marketplace for heavy users.
