As we conclude the week, it is time to review the progress that has been made in the past few days. Let us take a moment to evaluate the advancements achieved in the past few days.
Particl Desktop 🖥
We're still completing the items outlined in our previous updates, namely including enhancing Tor server capabilities and making a variety of minor improvements.
Please note, however, that we are currently observing a delay that is impacting the the development process of Particl Desktop which we hope to resolve shortly.
Particl Core 🔗
Core Codebase Maintenance 🛠️
As always, we consistently stay up-to-date with Bitcoin's latest version by regularly incorporating upstream updates into Particl Core. You can monitor these changes by visiting this link.
We're currently in discussions with various teams and potential new partners, exploring the possibilities of integrating their coins and protocols into BasicSwap. As part of this process, we're not only assessing the necessary requirements for these integrations, but we're also considering potential fundamental improvements to our own codebase.
Following our successful presence at Monerotopia, we've been inundated with positive feedback, insightful comments, and interest. This has undoubtedly opened numerous avenues for partnerships and overall growth. However, we've also identified several key changes that could fundamentally enhance BasicSwap's protocol, enabling us to navigate these newly opened doors with even greater efficiency.
We're presently in the process of evaluating the feasibility of these improvements, along with the resource requirements they may entail. We're also considering the timing of these changes — whether they should be implemented now or deferred for future development. The outcome of this evaluation will inevitably influence the delivery sequence of the upcoming items on BasicSwap's roadmap.
Web Framework 🚧
The majority of the aforementioned fundamental enhancements pertain to the way the desktop version of BasicSwap is built, notably as it relates to its reliance on Python as the primary programming language. However, the invisioned changes would inevitably influence the construction of certain components related to the web framework as well.
While the web framework development is already underway, with significant progress being made recently, the impact these improvements will have over it presents another compelling reason to consider the implementation of substantial foundational enhancements sooner rather than later.
By exploring and implementing these changes now, we may potentially streamline the development process and optimize the performance of both the desktop and web-based versions of BasicSwap.
User Interface 🖥️
We are wrapping up the last few user interface changes and bug fixes and expect the GUI v2.0.2 to go live within the next few days.
As a reminder from last week's progress report, here are some of the items that will be introduced by the upcoming user interface update:
- Total amount of portfolio in Wallets page.
- Enhanced display and usage of swap rates.
- Tooltips when hovering over specific areas.
- Enhanced bid-related pages, including the addition of a button to open swap details as opposed to clicking on the bid's hash, improved display of bid and swap statuses, and more.
- Persistent filters in the order book and bid/offer pages.
- Improved information display in the "Create New Offer" page.
As always, we thank you immensely for your passion and dedication to Particl and what it's working towards achieving. None of it would be possible without you all!
We wish you a great weekend we'll see you all back on Monday! 👋
