As we conclude the week, it is time to review the progress that has been made in the development cycle. Let us take a moment to evaluate the advancements achieved in the past few days.

Particl Desktop πŸ–₯

We have encountered some delays in the development of Particl Desktop 3.3 for mainnet, as our desktop developer has fallen ill and is gradually recovering.

Despite this, we have made some advances over the latter part of the week, though the commits are yet to be uploaded to GitHub.

We kindly request your patience as we strive to complete the Particl Desktop 3.3 cycle as quickly as possible and we wish a prompt recovery to our developer πŸ™

As always, we consistently stay up-to-date with Bitcoin's latest version by regularly incorporating upstream updates into Particl Core.

This week, we have, once again, been working on a series of complex Bitcoin merges that have required a significant amount of time to complete.

As highlighted in our yearly recap on Particl News, it is critical to maintain up-to-date upstream updates from Bitcoin in order to benefit from the entire pool of talent and associated security, usability, and other improvements

BasicSwap πŸ“ˆ

This week, we focused on developing and testing a new trading script which would enable offers to be automatically relisted on the order book when they reach expiration. This will essentially enable offers to remain available indefinitely, or until the trader removes them from the books.

Moreover, the script can access external APIs to acquire the market prices of various cryptocurrencies, and relist offers at a specified percentage above or below the current market price.

At this time, the script is not ready for production or public testing, however, the delivery of the script is an important first step in providing helpful market making tools to BasicSwap, a necessary prerequisite for the DEX in order to achieve a sufficient level of liquidity.

As we are continuing to evaluate the script's core features, as well as add supplementary functionality and test it, we will keep you informed of its progress in the next weekly updates.

User Interface πŸ–₯️

We have seen steady progress in regards to updating the user interface with several of its intended improvements.

The task list remains unchanged from last week, with the addition of volume meters to the new price charting system. You can refer to the list below as a reminder of what we're working on:

  • Integrating the new subfee feature to make coin withdrawals and offer posting easier (no need to manually calculate fees) into the GUI.
  • Addition of a dark mode.
  • Addition of a "simple" mode for the GUI in which the user interface is slimmed down. This aims at simplifying the user experience but still allowing for more advanced options via a "simple/advanced" toggler.
  • Addition of a new price charting system. The current chart style will still be available and it'll be possible to select which one you want to use via the settings page.
  • Introduction of a wide variety of GUI improvements, tweaks, and changes based on feedback from our beta testers.

We anticipate deploying the changes shortly, allowing all users to update their local BasicSwap instances and take advantage of the new features.

PART Now Available on Stack Wallet πŸ“±

Particl Added to Stack Wallet (Mobile Wallet)
The Particl coin is now officially supported by the open-source and non-custodial mobile wallet StackWallet.

Earlier this week, we announced that Particl is now officially available on the open-source and non-custodian mobile wallet Stack Wallet.

This integration allows you to securely store and manage your public PART coins on-the-go with a user-friendly and intuitive interface, without compromising on decentralization.

Particl Ecosystem β€” 2022 in Review πŸ”οΈ

Last week, we unveiled a Particl Core development progress visualizer, and now we are delighted to announce the availability of a new visualizer that captures the development progress of the main components of the entire Particl ecosystem, such as Particl Core, Particl Desktop, and BasicSwap DEX.

As always, we thank you immensely for your passion and dedication to Particl and what it's working towards achieving. None of it would be possible without you all!

We wish you a great weekend we'll see you all back on Monday! πŸ‘‹
