Particl Desktop 💻️
We're still completing the items outlined in our previous updates, namely including enhancing Tor server capabilities and making a variety of minor improvements.
Please note, that we are observing a delay that is impacting the development process of Particl Desktop which we are working on resolving.

Core Codebase Maintenance 🛠️

BasicSwap 📈
We've made good progress on all BasicSwap fronts this week. Notably, BasicSwap does not require the use of txscanoutset anymore, significantly improving the memory management of the platform, especially when multiple swaps happen at the same time, and facilitating the integration of a larger number of coins.
- Alternative to using
scantxoutsetfunctionality of coins (uses TX IDs and vouts in proof of funds instead) - Shorten the time strings in the UI and log files
Firo-related Fix 🔥

We've completed all Firo-related fixes and improved its integration significantly, now granting the privacy coin with hyper-private bidirectional adaptor signature swaps.
Additionally, Firo is now available within BasicSwap's installer, allowing you to setup the DEX with the coin.
Installer Wizard 🧙♂️
gerlofvanekA new version of the installer wizard is also available. It includes a wide variety of fixes to issues we've collected from the community and we recommend updating to the latest version.
While it is still only available for Windows, we've now completed tests for MacOS and are currently finalizing the last few changes. We're aiming for a MacOS release of the installer for somewhere next week.
User Interface (GUI 2.1) 🖥️
With the completion of Firo's improvements and the upcoming MacOS installer, our focus will now shift back to finalizing the remaining changes for BasicSwap's GUI 2.1.
As we are currently in the final phase of development for this update, our aim is to have the release ready before Christmas 🎅
Litecoin MWEB Integration ✨
Many of you might be aware that Litecoin is updating its codebase to fully enable MimbleWimble. As strong advocates for privacy, we've been exploring the possibility of integrating swaps that fully support MimbleWimble Extension Blocks (MWEB) on Litecoin, and are pleased to announce that we've found a solution!
However, its implementation relies on some of the code that will go live as part of the next MWEB release slated for in a few months. That means that, once the update is live, we will be all set to integrate MWEB LTC swaps into BasicSwap.
