Particl Development Progress Report (08-09-2023)

As we conclude the week, it is time to review the progress that has been made in the past few days. Let us take a moment to evaluate the advancements achieved in the past few days.

Particl Desktop 💻️

We're still completing the items outlined in our previous updates, namely including enhancing Tor server capabilities and making a variety of minor improvements.

Please note, however, that we are currently observing a delay that is impacting the the development process of Particl Desktop which we hope to resolve shortly.

Particl Core 🔗

New Particl Core Release (23.2.6) ✅

This week, we've pre-released a new core version (23.2.6) which adds a wide variety of small changes to the Particl blockchain.

Transactions with blinded inputs are marked in the TXDB.
- Enables the wallet to detect blinded transaction type_in without txindex.
RPC
- gettransaction shows total amount for tx records.
- gettransaction shows type_in field.
- gettransaction for fee for tx records shown once instead of in details.
- filtertransactions total amount now includes fee for sent txns.
  - Matches gettransaction for mapwallet transactions.
- extkeyimportmaster will fail to import to a wallet with an active account without setting the replaceaccount parameter.
- debugwallet can detect and repair missing blind input flags.
New checkpoints.
Merged BTC 23.2

As always, we recommend keeping you node(s) up-to-date with Particl's latest core version so that you can benefit from all the incremental improvements making their way into the releases. You can download and install the new core version's pre-release by following this link.

Core Codebase Maintenance 🛠️

As always, we consistently stay up-to-date with Bitcoin's latest version by regularly incorporating upstream updates into Particl Core. You can monitor these changes by visiting this link.

BasicSwap 📈

Adding New Coins 🪙

This week, we've continued our efforts towards incorporating new coins into BasicSwap and enhancing certain DEX components to ensure broader asset compatibility.

This week, we've begun testing the integration of a new (privacy) coin on testnet, and will begin mainnet testing over the next couple of days. We will be able to announce what that coin is very shortly, in collaboration with that coin's team, once we are assured that everything is working fine over mainnet.

We've also made significant progress integrating a second privacy coin, although more work is still required before we get to the testing phase for that specific coin.

User Interface 🖥️

We're continuing work on refining the New Offer page, along with integrating more minor improvements to the user interface. As it stands today, the New Offer page is completed and we will also begin testing it extensively, along with the variety of other improvements and changes made to the user interface, in the coming days.

New Particl Website ✅

We've also been making steady progress on the new website, as has been the case for the past couple of weeks, which we now expect to have a working version in internal testing soon. Live launch should follow shortly after that!
