As the week ends, let's take a moment to look back at what we've achieved in the past few days and see what we've got to look forward to in the week to come.
Particl Marketplace Update 🛒
We're currently working on a marketplace message scanner to extract the relevant information that needs to be analyzed by the LLM-powered moderation script. This is our current focus as the portion of the work relating to the LLM logic is now complete and awaiting the delivery of the scanner.
Once completed, the next step will be to merge it with the marketplace-related component of the system, and then test it extensively before release.
BasicSwap 📈
User Interface 🖥️
We've continued with work on improvements to the user interface, including an improvement to the rate system and how coin prices are fetched. The upcoming update will also contain a full redesign of the new offer page, a redesign of the current "swaps in progress" page, a new index page, as well as the inclusion of better defined "terms and conditions" (taken from BasicSwap's website here) that the users will have to accept after setting up BasicSwap for the first time.
Additionally, we're working on a series of general changes and improvements to the codebase, such as a more distributed API key management system.
These updates will soon be available on GitHub and, as always, you'll be able to test these changes before they go live by switching to the dev branch.
Integration Layer 📱
Since coming back from the 2024 Litecoin Summit, we've started designing the integration layer that will make it possible to integrate swap capabilities into third-party applications or on the web.
While actual coding hasn't officially started, we expect to begin within a few days as we iron out the last few details. This item is the next major milestone for BasicSwap and will dramatically improve its user experience by making it more intuitive and easy to use via leverage of third-party applications such as already-established crypto wallets or fully integrated web platforms.
As always, we're designing this integration layer in such a way that will preserve decentralization and privacy as much as possible, as per the usual ethos that comes with BasicSwap and Particl.
Additionally, working on this integration layer will carry the additional benefit of completing several milestones identified in community contributor Ofrnxmr's proposal here.
