Scheduled Hardfork of the Particl Protocol
When we upgraded Particl Core to be in step with Bitcoin (release 0.15.0.1) development we also locked in Particl’s first planned hardfork to happen November 10th of this year.
This Friday, Cold Staking will be activated on mainnet meaning it has graduated from the testing environment (testnet) into the arms of every user working on the network!
Don’t be left behind! You may be one of these nodes still running old protocol.
Please verify right now if you’re on the latest Particl Core protocol, or at least release 0.15.0.2 so your wallet is upgraded for the hardfork changes on Friday. Doing this now will eliminate all stress and anxiousness on whether your PART tokens are traveling on the correct ledger or the expired ledger after Nov. 10th.

Will there be 2 copies of PART after the hardfork, like Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash or Ethereum and Ethereum Classic?
No. Your PART tokens remain the same as they are right now, on the same original chain and in the same wallet. The hardfork will split the ledger (blockchain) on Nov. 10th and stakers working on the network
What happens if I don’t upgrade my wallet in time?
Once Cold Staking gets activated on the blockchain all old wallets not on latest protocol will begin producing a majority of orphaned blocks, transaction times will slow to a crawl and worst of all, PART sent from old wallets will not be validated by new wallets.
So if you try to send PART from an old wallet to Bittrex for example, Bittrex will never get it because you are not on the correct blockchain.
Are PART I send from an old wallet after the hardfork lost forever?
No. Remember, that wallet is broadcasting to an expired blockchain. They’ll be lost forever on that chain but they haven’t been audited in the correct PART blockchain so you still own them.
Once you upgrade your wallet to Particl Core 0.15.0.2 or newer you’ll have your correct PART in your wallet and free to send them with the assurance they’ll be registered on the blockchain and with services like Bittrex.
